Makawanpur police arrested two people with 109 kg of marijuana last night. Suman Tamang, 41, and Iroj Tamang, 18, of Kiranchowk, Gajuri Municipality-7, Dhading, were arrested with 109 kg of marijuana from Simpani, Manahari Rural Municipality-8, Makawanpur, along the East-West Road section.
When a jeep (B.P. 01-026 Cha 4893) coming from Chitwan to Hetauda was stopped and checked based on a special information, marijuana was found in 15 plastic-wrapped bags hidden under a tarpaulin at the rear of the vehicle.
According to the Area Police Office, it is estimated that the marijuana may have been loaded from a warehouse in Chitwan. Police have stated that the marijuana is being transported to India via Hetauda-Birgunj.
