A landslide that occurred on Saturday morning at Bharyangdanda in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 and Ghattepakh in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11 of Makwanpur has blocked the Kanti Lokpath. Due to continuous rainfall in the area, landslides have been falling onto the road from above.
Although the landslide at Ghattepakh has been cleared, police stated that the landslide at Bharyangdanda has not yet been removed. It is still raining in the area.
Because of the landslide, vehicles traveling from Hetauda to Kathmandu via Kanti Lokpath have been stopped at Thingan, while vehicles coming from Kathmandu have been halted across the Bagmati Bridge.
As Kanti Lokpath is a high-risk road, the local administration has prohibited vehicle movement at night. To conduct an on-site study of the road's condition, a team including Makwanpur Chief District Officer Basanta Adhikari and security agencies visited Thingan, Bharyangdanda, Ghattepakh, and up to the Bagmati Bridge on Thursday for monitoring.
