Due to the onset of the rainy season, the jeep safari service for tourists in Chitwan National Park will be closed from Wednesday. The park has been closing jeep safaris every year with the onset of the rainy season. Jeep safaris will start in the park from the first week of Asoj after the rains end.

The information issued by the park office on Tuesday states that the safari will remain closed until further notice. 'The rainy season is the best time for the reproduction of most of the wildlife and birds found in this Chitwan National Park,' the park's information states.

During the rainy season, problems such as the deterioration of the unpaved forest paths inside the park, flooding in the small rivers and streams in the forest, and the blocking of the road due to falling trees are also seen. Tourists on safari may face inconvenience due to such reasons, said Abinash Thapa Magar, information officer of the park. He said, "Considering wildlife conservation, habitat restoration and tourist safety, commercial jungle drives operating in the park have been closed from Asad 17 until further notice."

Tourists visiting the park usually enjoy jeep safaris and watching wild animals. There are also jeep safaris in the intermediate community forests outside the park. Community forest safaris are also being operated during the rainy season.
