A mother died after being beaten up by her own son in Bachamari, Suryabinayak Municipality-9, Bhaktapur last night. Kiran Chaudhary, 24, a native of Katari Municipality-5, Udayapur and currently residing in Suryabinayak-9, Bhaktapur, beat up his 40-year-old mother, Medhia Chaudhary, to death, informed Superintendent of Police, Bhaktapur Police Range, Surya Bahadur Khadka.
Kiran, who had come under the influence of alcohol, had beaten up his mother at 8:45 pm on Friday. Police said that Medhia, who suffered serious injuries to her head and face after the beating, died during treatment. Police said that she was taken to Bir Hospital from Suryabinayak Nagar Hospital for further treatment and was taken to Patan Hospital after treatment there was not possible, according to police.
Medhia died during treatment at Patan Hospital at 1 am, said Superintendent of Police, Bhaktapur Police Range, Khadka. Police said that after the incident, the police have taken their son Kiran under control and are conducting further investigation. The Chaudhary family, who came from Udayapur, used to work as wage laborers in Bhaktapur.
