Among those who escaped by breaking the wall of the Bhimphedi Regional Jail during the Gen-G movement on Bhadra 24, 128 prisoners are still absconding. Among those who escaped on the same day, 25-year-old Manoj Pulami Magar, a resident of Himganga, Ramechhap and residing in Fireline, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-15, who was serving a sentence in a drug case, was arrested on Friday.
Pulami was arrested by the police in Hetauda on charges of theft. During the investigation after his arrest, it was revealed that Pulami had broken the wall of the Bhimphedi Jail on the night of Bhadra 24. There are still 26 Indians among those who escaped during the Gen-G movement. Out of the 440 prisoners who escaped from Bhimphedi Jail, the security forces have arrested 312 from various places.
128 people are still absconding. 39 Indian nationals escaped by breaking the prison wall. Subash Poudel, chief of Bhimphedi Prison, said that 13 of them had entered the prison. 440 prisoners escaped on 24 Bhada by breaking the walls of 'A' and 'B' blocks of Bhimphedi Prison.
DSP Madhav Kafle, police spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, said that the search for 128 prisoners who escaped from the prison has been intensified. Most of the prisoners who escaped from Bhimphedi Prison are on drug and extortion cases.
According to the District Police Office, 77 people who escaped from the Central Prison in Kathmandu, Nakkhu Prison, Bharatpur, Kaski, Tanahun and other prisons have been arrested from various places in Makawanpur. They are also being kept in Bhimphedi Prison. Currently, there are 973 prisoners, including 35 women, in Bhimphedi prison. 44 of them are foreign nationals. Before the jailbreak, there were 1,066 prisoners in Bhimphedi.
5 children who escaped from the correctional home are still absconding
72 children escaped from the correctional home in Thanabharyang, Hetanda Sub-metropolitan City-11 on the morning of 25 Bhadra.
