Most of the local levels in the district have held village and municipal assemblies, publicizing policies, programs and budgets for the fiscal year 2083/084. The local levels have put forward programs for the coming year by prioritizing education, agriculture, health, tourism, disaster management and social security.

Bahrabise Municipality has made public a budget of Rs 748.5 million through its 19th municipal assembly held on Tuesday. According to Mayor Balkrishna Basnet, the budget includes programs such as providing teachers for teaching Bhota Bhasha (Sambhota script), free midday meal up to grade 10, operating an agricultural ambulance, establishing an agricultural produce sales room and a moisture center, and increasing the incentive allowance for women health volunteers.

Tripurasundari Rural Municipality has passed a budget of Rs 508.4 million 11 thousand from its 21st village assembly held on Wednesday. Rural Municipality Chairman Bhakta Dhawaj Bohora said that free education, midday meal up to grade 8 and the 'Save Mothers' campaign have been continued.

According to him, the expansion of climate-friendly agricultural technology based on innovative research, construction of playgrounds in every ward, the 'People with the Chairman' program and the establishment of agricultural produce collection centers are among the main priorities. 'Agricultural produce sales rooms, replanting incentive grants for farmers cultivating barren land, agricultural marketing and establishment of moisture centers are also included in the plan. The projects that have been started and not completed will be completed this year. Religious heritage sites with ancient significance reflecting different ethnic cultures will be developed,' he said.

Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality presented its policy, program and budget through the 17th village assembly on Friday. According to the vice-chairman of the rural municipality, Dichen Sherpa, priority has been given to free education, expansion of health services and monsoon-related disaster reduction programs.

Balefi Rural Municipality has passed a budget of Rs 598.538 crore from the 19th village assembly. The village assembly was held along with the inauguration of the newly constructed administrative building of the rural municipality.

Jugal Rural Municipality has put forward its policy and program for the coming year, focusing on education, social security and infrastructure development. According to Rural Municipality Chairman Resham Syangbo, the plan includes establishing an orphanage for destitute children in Selang, continuing the 'Educational Search Campaign', constructing a mini stadium, and investing in quality education.

He informed that the rural municipality has been providing education, housing, and catering to 17 children from remote areas by arranging for them to study at Ratna Rajya Secondary School in Chautara and is bearing all the expenses of education, housing, and food.

Indrawati Rural Municipality has made public an income and expenditure estimate of Rs 831 million for the upcoming fiscal year. Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality, Helambu Rural Municipality, and other local levels have also presented budgets and programs prioritizing education, agriculture, health, and infrastructure development.

Postponed in Melamchi

The municipal assembly of Melamchi Municipality has been postponed due to failure to reach an agreement on budget distribution. In the municipal assembly meeting held on Wednesday, the assembly could not proceed as per the scheduled agenda after the elected people's representatives from UML boycotted the meeting, expressing dissatisfaction with the budget distribution.
