Tipper operation will be banned to expedite the ongoing construction and upgrading work on the Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway.
A coordination meeting of stakeholders chaired by Kavre Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari on Monday concluded that only one lane should be operated to complete the remaining road construction work and decided to completely ban the entry of tippers on the road section from Ashad 14 to Ashad 12. According to the decision, passenger and cargo vehicles other than tippers will be banned from entering only from 7 pm to 5 am. Emergency service vehicles including ambulances will be allowed to operate as before.
The meeting also decided that the Road Division Office will coordinate with the District Administration Offices Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk for the necessary coordination to divert tippers to alternative routes.
According to the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur, such temporary traffic management has been implemented to ensure smooth movement of the general public by completing the upgrading work of the under-construction road section quickly.
