Now, the obligation to go to Dhulikhel to get tax-related services from Tripurasundari Rural Municipality will be eliminated.
The rural municipality has signed an agreement with the Inland Revenue Office, Kavre, on decentralization of service delivery and has started providing tax services from the local level. With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties on Thursday, services such as Permanent Account Number (PAN) registration, tax payment, tax-related recommendations, etc. will be available from the rural municipality.
This is expected to save both time and money for the service recipients. Rural Municipality Chairman Bhaktadhwaj Bohara said that the collaboration has been taken forward with the aim of providing services to the doorsteps of the citizens in accordance with the spirit of federalism. 'Now, there will be no need to go to Dhulikhel for general tax-related services,' he said. 'This will help provide easy and quick service to the citizens.'
Anmol Kumar Dahal, Chief Tax Officer of the Inland Revenue Office, Kavre, said that collaboration with the local level has been expanded as per the service simplification policy, adding that this will make the tax system more accessible and effective.
Chief Administrative Officer Sunil Nepali said that service delivery will be made technology-friendly, transparent and effective, thereby providing fast and easy services to the citizens. With the implementation of the system of providing revenue-related services from the local level, it is expected that service recipients in remote areas will directly benefit.
