Relatives of the bus accident that occurred in Namobuddha-2, Kavre, have received the bodies after the postmortem at Dhulikhel Hospital on Saturday, informed Kavre Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari. According to him, before the postmortem, it was agreed that each family of the deceased would receive Rs 500,000 as accident insurance, Rs 100,000 as relief from East Nepal Araniko Yatayat Pvt. Ltd., and Rs 50,000 for travel expenses from Roshi Rural Municipality.
It has also been agreed that East Nepal Araniko Yatayat will provide education expenses to the children who lost their parents in the accident.
Roshi Rural Municipality Chairman Dinesh Lama said that relatives have received the bodies after the postmortem and the cremation process has begun. Lama informed that 3 of the deceased were taken to Swayambhu for cremation today.
Eight people died when a passenger bus (Ba 3 Kha 8398) crashed at Selfiedanda in Buchakot, Namobuddha-2 on Friday. The deceased are Megh Bahadur Tamang, 73, Raju Tamang, 55, Indra Bahadur Tamang, 75, of Kavre Roshi-6, Phulmaya Tamang, 34, of Ward No. 7 of the same municipality, Maya Tamang, 60, and Pyari Maya Tamang, 60, of Ward No. 8. Similarly, Bam Bahadur Bhandari, 30, of Dailekh (a Nepali Army officer working in Trinetra Dal Battalion Bhakunde Bensi) and Sumi Tamang, 22, of Sindhuli Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality-4, also died in the accident.
16 people injured in the accident are being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital. Chief District Officer Adhikari informed that the condition of two of the injured is critical.
