A 'Liquid Best Treatment Plant' is to be constructed for the management of liquid waste generated from Hetauda Hospital.
The plant is to be constructed for the management of liquid and chemical waste generated within the hospital premises. The plant will be constructed and put into operation by the coming Ashar, informed the hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr. Ramchandra Sapkota.
Although liquid and chemical waste generated within the hospital premises was previously collected, sustainable management could not be achieved due to the lack of a management system. The hospital had called for a tender for the construction of a state-of-the-art plant in Asoj with the aim of processing liquid waste and making pure and chemical-free water. The hospital has stated that work on the plant is currently underway.
The work of purchasing and installing the necessary containers for the construction of the plant is progressing, said the hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr. Sapkota. The construction of the waste treatment center was started through a tender in Asoj last year.
The hospital has claimed that the plant will be put into operation by Asad after purchasing and installing the plant's machinery and equipment. The plant will process 10,000 liters of wastewater or chemical liquid waste per hour and produce normal water.
Although the hospital managed solid waste earlier, it was not able to manage chemical and liquid waste. Dr. Sapkota claims that work will be done in a way that there is no danger in the water released after processing.
