After completing the meeting and discussions from Chhyati Ghang via Ichok and Thadepati in Helambu on Sunday, public representatives, employees, media persons and other local leaders finally returned down on Monday. According to rural municipality chairperson Nimagyaljen Sherpa, the meeting focused on promoting domestic tourism, mitigating the effects of climate change, protecting glaciers and the Himalayan ecosystem, and sustainable development. It has also emphasized the need to maintain a balance between the protection of the Himalayan region, infrastructure development and tourism activities.

Helambu Rural Municipality has been vocal about the effects of climate change in recent years. According to the rural municipality, the temperature has increased in Bhemathang, the source area of the Melamchi River, and the surrounding mountainous areas, the rate of glacier melting has accelerated, water sources have dried up and biodiversity has been affected. Chairman Sherpa stated that he has been running the 'Justice for the Climate' campaign since his second term, and said that the Himalayan community has suffered disproportionately due to the high carbon emissions of developed countries. "We are preparing to raise our voice with facts at the government and international forums about the floods, glacier erosion and environmental crisis we are experiencing," he said.

According to the rural municipality, due to climate change, the rate of snow melting in the mountainous areas of Helambu has increased, apple cultivation has been affected, the habitat of yaks and other mountainous wildlife is in danger, and water sources are drying up.
