Sanjeev Pathak of Manahari has been elected unopposed as the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) Makawanpur in its first convention. He was previously the RSWP district secretary. 

The convention held in Hetauda on Saturday unanimously elected an 11-member district committee under Pathak's leadership for a 5-year term. The convention elected Takaraj Thapa (Suresh) as the vice president, Vishab Adhikari as the secretary, and Shanti Thapa Bidari as the joint secretary. 

Samjhana Pudasaini, Padam Thing, Safal Dutraj, Haliya Sheikh, Harihar Khatiwada and Dev Kumar Aryal as members from the convention. Harihar Khatiwada was also elected as the president of the Representative Assembly Constituency No. 1 and Dev Kumar Aryal as the president of Constituency No. 2, said the newly elected secretary Vishab Adhikari. 

The convention was held with the participation of more than 450 representatives from all 10 municipalities of Makawanpur. There is a provision in the statute to nominate one person from among the newly elected district committee members as treasurer.
