A fire broke out at Khwpring Academy in Bhaktapur Municipality Ward No. 8, Liwali at around 12:45 pm on Thursday night due to an electrical short circuit. The police have said that the fire was brought under control with the help of locals, police and fire brigade. The fire completely destroyed the upper floor of the two-storey kindergarten building of the school, said the school's principal, Binod Prajapati.
The school will be closed for two days due to the fire and alternative arrangements will be made for classes, said Principal Prajapati.
