The short-distance alternative route to Hetauda-Kathmandu has been closed for a month. The short-distance Hetauda-Kulekhani-Phakhel-Pharping road section connecting Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, and Kathmandu, the federal capital, has been completely closed for a month from today, i.e., Jestha 15. The road has been closed as the Infrastructure Development Office, Hetauda, requested the District Administration Office, Makawanpur, to close the road for construction work. A concrete bridge is being constructed on the Mahalaxmi Khola in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-2 under the road section and the road slope work is going to start on the same section from Jestha 15.
The road has been closed due to the pressure to complete the work within the current fiscal year 2082/83 and the heavy traffic on the road, which is expected to hinder the construction work and cause inconvenience to passengers due to traffic jams. Passengers and vehicle owners have been urged to use the Heavy-Sisneri-Dakshinkali-Pharping road section as an alternative route.
