A laborer has died while working in a tunnel in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 Mahadevtar of the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhesh Fast Track. One person has been injured.
The deceased is Gopal Chaudhary, 30, of Bardiya. Santosh Bhomjan, 22, of Makawanpur Thaha Municipality-5 Sanopakha, has been injured.
They were injured when an iron-made equipment used in the tunnel fell. Both were brought to Churehill Hospital in Hetauda for treatment on Monday evening. Chaudhary died at 11 pm on Monday night during treatment, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur. The other injured person is being treated at the hospital. The accident site is 11 kilometers north of the Area Police Office, Thigan.
