Division Forest has demolished a concrete house in Dhading today after it was built by encroaching on forest land. The Division Forest Office, Dhading, has demolished a commercial building near Sheetal Bazaar, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-3, Dhading, along the Prithvi Highway.
Roshana Pokharel, head of the Division Forest Office, Dhading, informed that the building, which has been in dispute for a long time and was ordered to be demolished by the Supreme Court in Paush 2079, was demolished after a request. The office said that the building, which was the subject of a case for operating a business by exploiting public property, was declared illegal by the court's decision and ordered to be demolished.
Pokharel, head of the office, said that the house was demolished out of respect for the court's order to demolish it, but no plan has been made for encroachment in other areas. Dhading, which has the largest number of community forests, has many such houses built within community forests. Although concrete structures have been built in community forest areas, the Division Forest Office has not shown much interest in this regard.
