Police in Dhading have arrested a man with 51 kg of opium and a loaded gun.
Based on a tip-off that a large quantity of drugs was hidden in the house of local Bir Bahadur Tamang in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-2, Howang, at 4 am on Friday, he was arrested with 51 kg 18 grams (54.32 including the bucket) of opium hidden in 5 plastic buckets and a 4-foot 6-inch-long loaded gun.
Police have stated that the arrested Tamang is a fugitive in a drug case. Tamang was presented before the district court on Friday for the crime of arms and ammunition at the Area Police Office, Gajuri.
Police have also arrested 28-year-old Biraj Tamang and Sano Kanchha Tamang from the same place with illegal loaded guns. Dhading Police Spokesperson Prakash Dahal said that they have also been presented before the district court for weapons and ammunition related offenses.
