After no preventive work was done throughout the winter, the landslides of Tuinkhola have started causing trouble again as soon as the rains start.

The landslide in Tuinkhola near Muglin on the Narayangadh-Muglin road has blocked the road in both directions since Friday morning. In the past, the Tuinkhola had been a major problem.

Chitwan District Police Office spokesperson DSP Rabindra Khanal informed that the landslide blocked the road at 5:20 am. He said that it may take one to one and a half hours to open the road, which is closed in both directions.

The Narayangadh-Muglin road is the main road connecting the capital Kathmandu and the tourist city of Pokhara with the eastern and western parts of the country. But landslides have been causing a lot of trouble on this road. More than 12,000 small and large vehicles ply on this road every day.

The landslides in Tuinkhola blocked the road for 184 hours repeatedly last year, according to the Bharatpur Division Road Office. The road was blocked for 58 hours continuously. This time, the road has been blocked since April 20.

Yesterday, on Thursday afternoon, a moving car caught fire when a stone hit the fuel tank in Tuinkhola.
