A co-driver has died after being crushed by a vehicle in Thanabharyang, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11. 23-year-old Phulkanta Tharu of Biruwaguthi, Parsa Gadhi Rural Municipality-3, Parsa, died after being crushed by a truck in Thanabharyang, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11 on the East-West Highway.
While the driver was cleaning the front glass of a truck (No. 7 Kha.7018) parked in Thanabharyang, the truck (No. 6 Kha.4289) parked in front of the highway collided with the truck (No. 7 Kha.7018) and the co-driver Tharu was injured.
The injured co-driver Tharu was taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment. After treatment was not possible at Hetauda Hospital, he was taken to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan.
The co-driver Tharu died on Monday night while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, said Pushkar Bogati, Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
The driver of the vehicle, Ekraj Timilsena, 32, of Parsa Thori Rural Municipality-1, and the other driver, Bhabis Tamang, 29, of Udayapur, have been taken into custody by the police.
