During the Genji movement and protests, the police have started taking control of prisoners who have escaped from various prisons in Makawanpur.

Out of the 440 people who have escaped from the Bhimphedi Regional Prison, 293 have been arrested so far and sent back to Bhimphedi Prison, while 147 are still absconding.

Similarly, 75 people who have escaped from prisons in various districts have been taken into custody and sent to Bhimphedi Prison, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

Out of the 72 people who have escaped from the Makawanpur Juvenile Correctional Home, 67 have been taken back into custody, while 5 are still absconding, informed Pushkar Bogati, Superintendent of Police at the Makawanpur District Police Office.

Currently, there are 91 inmates in the Juvenile Correctional Home. The police have said that the search for other absconding prisoners has been intensified.
