The government offices damaged by protesters during the Genji movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 in Bagmati Province have been reconstructed and are in preparation for handover. Most of the damaged ministries and government residences have also been repaired and handed over.

The building was inaugurated by Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya on Monday after the reconstruction. He said that the ministries will soon start working in this building after the reconstruction of the building housing five ministries.

The buildings of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Drinking Water and Irrigation, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and Ministry of Labor, Employment and Transport in Hetauda were severely damaged during the movement. Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota said that the buildings have been restored to their original condition after the renovation.

The inauguration of the five-storey building in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-1, which houses five ministries, was completed after the reconstruction work was completed. The building, located on the Tribhuvan Highway, housed five ministries. The building will now house four ministries, including the Ministry of Energy, Water Supply, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Labor and Agriculture, according to the Chief Minister's Office. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has stated that 12.8 million rupees were spent on the reconstruction of the building, which was damaged by arson during the Genji movement. Sagun Construction had taken the reconstruction contract five months ago. The ministry has stated that the construction company completed the work ahead of schedule. 'We have reconstructed the building in a short period of time based on the advice of experts and engineering,' said Minister Devkota. 'The ministry had mobilized engineering experts to conduct a technical study to determine the temperature at which the building's rods melted and how safe the structure is.'

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure has stated that the construction contractors have also completed the renovation work of the residence of the Chief Secretary of the province, the Bagmati Provincial Assembly Secretariat and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

Minister Dr. Devkota said that some damaged structures have been repaired by inviting tenders through a special budget of Rs 64.3 million received from the Ministry of Finance. Based on the experts' report, a budget of Rs 832 million has been estimated for the reconstruction of the remaining structures in the coming days. According to Minister Dr. Devkota, there was a loss of Rs 1.35 billion 3.492 billion during the Genji movement. Of which, Rs 581.5 million was lost to buildings, Rs 247.8 million to vehicles (damage to 143 motorcycles and 56 four-wheelers), and Rs 273.5 million to goods.
