A meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has been called. The meeting of the current session of the Provincial Assembly has been called to be held on Sunday, May 6 at 11 am.

The agenda of this meeting of the Provincial Assembly is to discuss the theoretical aspects of various bills presented on 25/26 Chaitra, and discuss them clause-by-clause, informed the Provincial Assembly Secretary Ram Kumar Poudel. According to him, various issues raised during the discussions in the House will be sent to the committee.

‘The issues raised in the House will also be sent to the committee and the bill will be discussed clause-by-clause. We will prepare separate reports by incorporating the suggestions received from there,’ he said. The possibility of the Speaker selection process moving forward in this session is low due to the lack of agreement between the ruling Congress and UML. ‘Discussions are moving forward to end the winter session of the House by holding a one-day meeting and to convene a budget session within a few days to select the Speaker,’ said an MP close to the Congress.

There is a dispute between the Congress and the UML over whether to hand over the keys to power or retain it. Due to which the issue of selecting the Speaker and reducing the number of ministries is being overlooked in Bagmati.
