One person was killed and three others were injured when two motorcycles collided on the Araniko Highway in Naya Pul, Balefi Rural Municipality-8 on Tuesday. According to the Area Police, Barhabise, the motorcycle (Ba Pra 02-049 Pa 7762) heading from Barhabise to Lamosanghu and the motorcycle (Ba Pra 03-02-001 Pa 9076) coming from the opposite direction collided.
25-year-old Jeevan Khatri of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-7 was seriously injured in the accident. "He suffered serious head injuries and died at 5:20 pm during treatment at Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital, Lamosanghu," said Barhabise Police Inspector Krishna Khadka of the IPR, who was deployed at the scene.
Similarly, the driver of motorcycle (9076), Kumar Tamang (27) of Barhabise Municipality-6 and his wife Sunita Tamang (31) of Barhabise Municipality-6, suffered minor injuries. They are being treated at Barhabise Municipal Hospital. Jit Bahadur Shrestha, 14, of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-3, who was riding behind the motorcycle (number 7762), was also seriously injured in the accident. He has been referred to Dhulikhel Hospital for further treatment, police said. 'Both motorcycles have been damaged,' he said. Teams from Lamosanghu Police Post and Bahrabise Area Police Office were deployed to the scene.
