Makawanpur police have raided an illegal home-made liquor manufacturing industry and seized a large quantity of liquor and raw materials.
A police team was deployed at 4 pm on Sunday based on a special tip-off that liquor was being illegally manufactured in the zinc-made house of Jagat Bahadur Ghising in Chowkitol, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-1.
During a search operation at the spot, the police seized about 4,000 liters of ready-made liquor and raw materials used to make 5,000 liters of liquor, said Makawanpur Deputy Superintendent Pushkar Bogati. He said that 8 gas cylinders, 2 kilns, 2 sacks of rice and plastic drums and bottles used in liquor production were also seized.
Police have taken 4 people, including 60-year-old Jagat Bahadur Ghising, the owner of the liquor factory, into custody from the spot. The others arrested are Sujan Tamang, 23, of Kalika Municipality-7, Chitwan, Ajay Lama, 19, of Bara Kolbi Municipality-8, and Suresh Praja, 34, of Kalika Municipality-9, Chitwan.
Police have stated that necessary investigation is underway on the individuals taken into custody.
