The winter session of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has been called for Tuesday. On the recommendation of the provincial government, Provincial Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota has called the session of the Provincial Assembly. On the recommendation of the provincial government's Council of Ministers meeting held on Sunday, Provincial Chief Devkota has called the 17th session of the Provincial Assembly for Tuesday at 4 pm. The government has called the winter session five months after the end of the annual session of the Provincial Assembly. On November 3, Provincial Chief Devkota had ended the annual session of the Provincial Assembly on the recommendation of the provincial government. The meeting could not be held after the structures including the Provincial Assembly secretariat and assembly hall were burnt during the Gen-G movement. The then Provincial Assembly Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak had announced his resignation from the post in the midst of the Gen-G movement. Pathak had submitted his written resignation to the Provincial Assembly on October 1. Following the government's decision to end the Provincial Assembly session on November 15 without holding a meeting, Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Apsara Chapagain issued a public notice informing the Provincial Assembly members about the Speaker's resignation.
