The Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences in Hetauda has started the study of medical education (MBBS) from this year. So far, 47 people have been admitted in the first batch of MBBS. Of them, 4 are Indians.
The 43 Nepali students have come from 28 districts of Nepal. The highest number of students are 5 from Kathmandu, 4 from Lalitpur, 3/3 from Kaski and Mahottari, and 2/2 from Achham, Bara, Tanahun, and Parsa. Similarly, the institute has stated that 1/1 person from Makawanpur, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Chitwan, Dolakha, Baitadi, Bajura, Dhanusha, Syangja, Rupandehi, Doti, Sunsari, Saptari, Nawalparasi, Tehrathum, Kapilvastu, Dhading, Bardiya, Sindhuli, and Dolpa districts have been admitted. 2/2 students from Maharashtra and Bihar in India have been admitted.

According to her, even though the admission is scheduled until Chaitra 5, the number of students may increase as they are still in contact with other students.
In the first two years of the MBBS program, students will study basic science subjects. There are currently 21 professors in the institute for this. For the remaining period, there are 53 professors for clinical science, said Amar Singh Adhikari, the chief administrative officer of the institute.
Adhikari also informed that there are 101 professors for academic programs in health sciences including BPH (Public Health), BMLT (Lab Medicine), BSc Nursing and B Pharmacy. Out of these, 7 professors and senior consultant experts are there for teaching. The MBBS program was formally launched on Falgun 25 last year, and basic classes were conducted for a week. The institute has stated that regular classes have also started from Sunday.
This year, 9 subjects have been added to the MD program, and the number of seats has been increased from 8 to 27. The institute, which was established after the passage of the act on Asoj 2, 2076 BS, is expected to play an important role in health services, health education, research, and the production of skilled doctors.
