The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Officer (6th) of the Transport Management Office, Hetauda, ​​Amrit Bhetuwal and accountant Khagendra Poudel in a special court.

A chargesheet was filed against them in the Special Court in Kathmandu on Thursday on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 11,500 from a service recipient on the pretext of making an agreement for the transfer of a vehicle.

Earlier, a team deployed from the CIAA Office in Hetauda had taken the two into custody on Falgun 13 when accountant Poudel had already taken the amount from the service recipient. They are still under the control of the CIAA.

During the investigation, the CIAA has confirmed that the bribe transaction was a premeditated and colluded between Officer Bhetuwal and Poudel. The Commission has fixed the amount of Rs 11,500 for both of them and demanded a fine of the same amount and imprisonment, according to the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, according to the Commission's spokesperson Suresh Neupane.
