A public representative has died of electrocution in Makawanpur. Gyan Bahadur Gole, a ward member of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11, died of electrocution.
Gole was on his way from his home in Pipaldanda, Bakaiya-11, to the ward office in Aapchaur to attend a regular meeting of the ward committee when he fell on a broken electric wire on the road 200 meters away from his home, Ward Chairman Gopal Nyasur said.
42-year-old Gole was elected as a ward member from the Nepali Congress in the 2074 and 2079 local elections. ‘The electric wire broke and fell due to the wind. He may have been electrocuted while coming to attend the ward meeting,’ said Ward Chairman Nyasur, ‘The incident came to light only after students and locals who were walking along that road saw it.’
Gole died on the spot of electrocution. Gole has a wife and a 7-month-old daughter. Gole's body has been brought to Hetauda for postmortem.
