The Bagmati Province Health Ministry is preparing to declare 'One District, One Healthy City' in all 13 districts of the province. Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa Magar informed that the Ministry of Health has launched a campaign to declare one city or municipality in each district as a healthy city.

For this, he informed that discussions and orientation have been completed on the preparation of necessary action plans for building healthy, safe and sustainable cities for the heads of public health offices, heads and representatives of district hospitals in all 13 districts of the province. He said that he has instructed all the concerned to start necessary preparations as per the orientation.

Minister Thapa Magar mentioned that it has been decided to take forward the 'One District, One Healthy City' construction campaign by creating a health-friendly environment in each district of the province, providing essential health infrastructure, improving the health, hygiene and living standards of the citizens of the district, and providing easy access to health services.

Secretary of the Provincial Health Ministry Sumitra Gautam said that the campaign is being launched with the aim of making each district a healthy city and making healthy citizens by effectively implementing the health sector, evaluating achievements and identifying opportunities for improvement.

She informed that a plan has been formulated to make the health sector practical, sustainable and result-oriented with the aim of making Bagmati a model province in the health sector. She said that the goal is to strengthen the overall health system of the province by improving the quality of health services in all 13 districts of the province, expanding access, increasing public awareness and effectively using technology.

Health Secretary Gautam informed that preparations have been started to make the management of the hospitals so that every citizen can easily get treatment in the hospitals of their own district and to make the hospitals equipment and technology-friendly. He said that preparations have been made in each district so that the Provincial Health Ministry can launch a campaign for healthy cities and healthy citizens.
