Makawanpur police have arrested Devchandra Ghalan, 32, of Rupachuri, Manahari Rural Municipality-6, with 3.5 kg of opium. A police team on patrol from the Rupachuri-Manahari road section of Manakamana Community Forest in Manahari Rural Municipality-7, took Ghalan under control along with the narcotics. Opium was found with him during a search. The District Police Office, Makawanpur, has stated that 3 kg 478 grams of opium was found in the bag he was carrying. The police say that the opium was found packed in three plastic bags. Police have said that Ghalan has been granted bail from the Makawanpur District Court, Hetauda, and further investigation is underway.
