The deceased has been identified as Govinda Chaudhary, 38, a resident of Piparavitta, Barahathawa Municipality-15, Sarlahi, and currently residing in Chhapakaiya, Birgunj Metropolitan City-2, Parsa. The container (Na 4 Kha 9923) heading from Hetauda to Chitwan and the empty truck (B.P. 03-001 Kha 0398) coming from Chitwan to Birgunj collided with each other, causing the accident.

The container driver, Chaudhary, was trapped in the steering wheel in the accident. He was rescued with the help of police and locals and taken to Churehill Hospital in Hetauda for treatment. He died during treatment, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

The truck driver, Dhaneshwor Chaudhary, 42, of Khairhani Municipality-9, Chitwan, is safe. He has been taken into custody by the police.

Similarly, 65-year-old Resham Upreti of Dhakaltol, Manahari Rural Municipality-8, Makawanpur, died when his car overturned in a drain while coming towards Simpani.

Upreti, a passenger in the car, was seriously injured when the brakes of the car (Na 2 Ha 3234) failed and it fell into the drain. Police said that he died during treatment while being taken to the Old Medical College in Chitwan.
