In Dolakha, Jagadish Kharel, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), has been elected. He was elected by getting 32,376 votes. Parbat Gurung of the CPN-UML, who came second, got 17,449 votes.
He, who had also contested the 2079 House of Representatives elections, was elected by a huge margin in his second attempt. Kharel got 14,997 more votes than Gurung.
Similarly, Bishal Khadka of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) came in third place with 13,065 votes. Ajay Babu Shiwakoti of the Nepali Congress came in fourth with 12,298 votes.
The elected Kharel is an engineer by profession and is also a hydropower entrepreneur.
