The counting of votes has now begun in both constituencies of Kavre under the House of Representatives elections.
The counting of votes began a while ago in Kavre-1, while the counting of votes in three wards in Kavre-2 has been completed.
In Kavre-2, Badan Kumar Bhandari, the candidate of the National Independent Party (RSVP), has taken the lead. After the counting of votes in Dhulikhel Municipality Ward No. 1, 2 and 3, he has trailed CPN-UML candidate Ashok Kumar Byanju by 495 votes.
Bhandari has secured 1,535 votes, while Byanju has secured 1,040 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Madhu Prasad Acharya, who is in third place, has secured 553 votes.
Similarly, Jyotsana Sainju of Ujjaya Nepal Party has received 234 votes and Basundhara Humagain of NCP has received 175 votes. Out of a total of 3,632 votes in the three wards, 224 votes have been invalidated.
Counting of votes is currently underway in wards 4, 5 and 6 of Dhulikhel under Kavre-2. This area includes wards 1 to 7 of Dhulikhel Municipality.
