Bhutan Devi Secondary School in Hetauda-4 has won the Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-level President's Running Shield title.
Bhutan Devi Secondary School won the title in the competition held on Sunday with 11 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Janapriya Secondary School came second with 6 gold, 6 bronze and 7 silver medals in the competition and Tulsi Meher Memorial Secondary School came third with only 6 gold medals.
In the march pass held at the opening ceremony of the competition on Friday, Bal Ujwal Secondary School came first, Siddhartha Secondary School came second, Adhikari National Secondary School and Siddhartha Shishu Sadan Secondary School came third.
The schools that came first, second and third in the march pass received prizes of 7 thousand, 5 thousand and 3 thousand rupees respectively, informed the competition coordinator Rajaram Pokharel.
Under the Running Shield competition, games were held in the categories of Wushu, Karate, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Athletics. In the athletics category, Hasina Khatun of Shramik Secondary School and Ashish Yadav of Bhutan Devi Secondary School were declared the best player for the girls and Ashish Yadav of Bhutan Devi Secondary School were declared the best player for the boys. Khatun won 3 gold, 1 bronze and 1 silver while Yadav won 4 gold.
Apsana Upreti of Gyanodaya Secondary School was declared the best female player in volleyball and Riyaz Thokar of Adhikari National Secondary School was declared the best male player.
In kabaddi, Pragati Secondary School came first in the boys' category and Siddhartha Secondary School came second in the girls' category. Bhrikuti Secondary School came first and Hetauda Academy came second in the girls' category. The best players of the competition received trophies and certificates.
The competition was organized by Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City and managed by Adhikari National Secondary School located in Hetauda-4. 1,125 students from 37 secondary schools, including community and institutional, participated in the competition that began on Friday.
