A pedestrian has died in an accident that occurred at Narayangadh Pulchowk on Tuesday night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office, 55-year-old Durga Katel, a resident of Panchakanya Rural Municipality-2, Nuwakot, died in the accident.
Durga was hit by a long-haul truck trailer carrying goods (Ba Pra 03002 Kha 3423) coming from Gaindakot to Bharatpur at 9:20 pm at Narayangadh Pulchowk in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1.
She was taken to the government hospital in Ratpur for treatment, where doctors declared her dead at 9:50 pm, DSP Khanal said. The driver of the truck that hit her, 23-year-old Ujwal Rana of Makawanpur Manahari Rural Municipality-3, has been taken into custody by the police.
