The Election Office staff is removing the seals on the ballot boxes used in previous elections and cleaning them to make them usable. The Election Office has stated that two employees have been cleaning the ballot boxes for the past week.
Tara Prasad Acharya, Information Officer of the Provincial Election Office, said that about 1,000 ballot boxes are being kept ready for 374 polling stations in 167 polling stations in Makawanpur. Two ballot boxes will be sent to each polling station for direct and proportional ballots. An additional box will be sent to areas with 1,000 voters. Spokesperson Acharya said that there will be more than 100 ballot boxes for backup.
About 5 ballot boxes are also required for temporary polling stations. In the 2079 election, the polling stations for temporary voters were kept at the District Administration Office and the Regional Jail, Bhimphedi. Makawanpur-1 has 178 polling stations in 62 polling stations. Area No. 2 has 196 polling stations in 105 polling stations. There are 158,435 voters in Makawanpur-1 and 156,899 voters in Area No. 2.
