Training for election police has begun on Sunday at nine locations, including the district and area police offices, in Makawanpur, which has two constituencies.
Training has been started for election police officers at Hetauda-4 Huprako Chaur and Bhutandevi Mavi Chaur, Area Police Offices Palung, Phaparbari, Manahari, Thigan, Makawanpurgadhi, Hetauda Sanopokhara and Pashupatinagar, necessary for the security arrangements for the upcoming Falgun 21 election.
The District Police Office Makawanpur has stated that they have been sent for training in various areas with the aim of deploying them in the same area after receiving the training. Similarly, Armed Police Force No. 14 Battalion Hetauda has started training 179 election police officers within the Hetauda Industrial Area.
District Police Spokesperson DSP Pushkar Bogati said that a 10-day training has been started for 2,102 election police officers across the district. During the training, election police officers will be given training on the nature of the work to be done together with security personnel, code of conduct and discipline. Two police officers are providing training for every 100 people.
The application deadline was extended for the second time after the number of election police officers specified for Makawanpur was insufficient. In Makawanpur, 2,012 election police officers, including 1,923 from Nepal Police and 179 from Armed Police, have been recruited. Of these, 653 are women. 431, including 112 women, are on the alternative list.
DSP Bogati said that the selected election police officers will be mobilized to their work areas after being given basic training from Magh 18 to Magh 27. They will be mobilized to their work areas at the end of Magh. Those between the ages of 18 and 54 have been recruited to the election police. Those who are going to be recruited for 40 days will get the same salary and ration facilities as police constables.
There are 167 polling stations and 374 polling stations in 2 constituencies of Makawanpur. From a security perspective, 19 polling stations have been placed on the highly sensitive list. Out of the 10 local levels of the district, 6 polling stations in local levels have been placed on the highly sensitive list. The number of voters in Makawanpur is 315,334.
