On Wednesday night, a motorcycle (Ba 55 Pa 1745) coming from Kamalbinayak towards Chyamasingh lost control and crashed into a scooter (Bagmati Province 02-020 Pa 1168) coming from the same direction.
Then, a tipper (Province 3-01-003 Ka 6291) coming from the opposite direction hit the scooter, informed Surya Bahadur Khadka, Chief Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bhaktapur.
The scooter driver, Bimal Vanmala, 26, a resident of Bhaktapur Municipality Ward No. 8, was seriously injured in the accident. He was taken to Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment. Police said that he died during treatment due to serious head injuries.
Similarly, the motorcycle driver, Rajesh Vanmala, 24, of Inacho, Bhaktapur Municipality Ward No. 7, was injured. He is undergoing treatment at B&B Hospital in Lalitpur.
Police have taken into custody tipper driver Rajkumar Majhi, 25, of Sindhupalchowk, who was absconding after the accident. All three vehicles involved in the accident are currently being kept at the Jagat Police Station.
