The principal and a teacher of the school have been arrested on charges of attempting to sexually abuse a 12-year-old girl studying in grade 7 of Janajagruti Secondary School in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-12 of the district.

According to Superintendent of Police Kazi Kumar Acharya of the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk, both of them have been taken into custody and an investigation has been launched. According to the victim, teacher Jitraj Giri is accused of trying to misbehave with the girl who went to buy a pencil at a stationery shop near the school on the evening of Magh 2. After the incident, the girl opened up to her friend and the incident was made public at the school on Magh 3. 

The victim has accused Principal Dhruvraj Giri of trying to mediate the incident instead of taking it to legal proceedings. After learning about this, local parents gathered in the school premises in anger on Wednesday. The situation here became tense, and the police controlled the crowd. 'The police have initiated an investigation into the incident as per the necessary inquiries and legal procedures, the police are deployed at the scene, more details will be revealed after the investigation,' said Superintendent of Police Acharya.
