Six candidates, including three women, are vying for two posts in the National Assembly from Bagmati Province.

As of 11:30 am on Sunday, 75 out of 104 provincial assembly members have voted, while 203 out of 234 municipal voters have voted, Election Officer Geeta Shrestha said. 
The voting time has been set from 9 am to 3 pm. 16 election office employees have been deployed at the polling station.

A polling station has been set up for Bagmati Province at Bhutan Devi Secondary School in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-4. There are 2 polling stations at that polling station. 

Geeta Devkota, who has filed her candidacy for women from the Nepali Congress, Saroj Kumari Jha of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), and Kabita Maharjan from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party are candidates. Similarly, Prem Prasad Dangal from the UML, Prem Prasad Sapkota from the NCP, and Bikram Dukuchhu from the NEP are candidates from other groups.

Six candidates, including three women, are running for two National Assembly seats in Bagmati Province, including one woman. The Congress and  UML had coordinated its candidacy. 

The Election Commission has scheduled the voting for the 18 vacant members of the National Assembly from 9 am to 3 pm on Magh 11. Both the members of the National Assembly whose term ends in Bagmati next Falgun belong to the newly formed Nepali Communist Party. 

The term of the 19 members of the National Assembly whose term ends in Falgun as per Article 86 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal is about to end on Falgun 20. Out of the vacant posts, one will be nominated by the President on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and elections for 17 National Assembly members are going to be held today. One person from Koshi Province has already been elected unopposed. The vote weight of a provincial assembly member will be 53, while the vote weight of the local level chief and deputy chief will be 19.
