The fire that broke out at the Mahashakti Soap Company warehouse in the Hetauda Industrial Area on Saturday night has not yet been brought under control.

The fire that broke out at the warehouse of Mahashakti Soap Company, the oldest industrial powerhouse in the Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-8 industrial area, has not been brought under control since 11:30 pm on Saturday.

Two fire engines from Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City, a police team from Makawanpur, police from the Armed Police Force Nepal 14 Battalion, and locals were deployed throughout the night to extinguish the fire.

‘But the fire has not been brought under control even till this morning,’ said Pushkar Bogati, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur. ‘It was difficult to control the fire as there were not only soap and cartons prepared in the warehouse, but also chemicals,’ he said.

Details of the extent of damage caused by the fire are yet to be released. It is estimated that the fire started due to a short circuit in the electrical wire in the warehouse.
