The co-driver has died after a jeep heading towards Kathmandu from Hetauda via Bhimphedi and Kulekhani met with an accident near Simkhola Bridge in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-2, Makawanpur.
The deceased is Rohan Mandal, 17, of Barhathawa Municipality-1, Sarlahi, who was the co-driver of the jeep. He died on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College.
The driver, 25-year-old Ramwali Sah, and another co-driver, 16-year-old Chhote Paswan of Barhathawa Municipality-1, were injured in the accident. Both are undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College, said DSP Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
A Bolero vehicle carrying chickens bearing the registration number M Pra 03-001 Cha 6721, which was heading towards Kathmandu from Sarlahi, fell into a ravine 7 meters below the road due to brake failure at 1 am on Wednesday. The 300 chickens in the Bolero vehicle carrying 500 chickens also died.
