Indrasarobar Rural Municipality of Makawanpur has reached out to the wards and provided warm clothes to the elderly as part of the Senior Citizens Honor Program.

They have been given free health check-ups and medicines. The municipality has distributed blankets and warm clothes to 1,298 senior citizens from Poush 24 to 30 at convenient places in the ward and has also conducted health check-ups.

Village Municipality Chairman Devkrishna Pudasaini said that warm clothes were distributed to 277 elderly, disabled and single women of Indrasarobar-2. He said that they were also provided with free medicines after their health check-ups. He said that 246 people, 775 from Ward-3, 1,298 people including warm clothes and free health check-ups were distributed to them at a program organized at the health post in Markhu in Ward-1.  

Chief Administrative Officer of the village municipality Ramchandra Lama said that clothes and banquets were provided to provide warmth to the elderly during the winter months as part of the Senior Citizens Honor Program. 

This municipality, divided into five wards, has provided warm clothes to 1,298 people, including the elderly, the disabled and single women, as of Wednesday, said Chairman Pudasaini.

He said that the rural municipality has purchased warm clothes and blankets worth 1.8 million rupees through a tender. This municipality, which is the smallest in the district in terms of geography and population, is colder than others.
