CT scan services have been launched at Khwap Hospital, run by Bhaktapur Municipality, from Thursday.

Inaugurating the city scan service, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Chairman Narayanman Bijukchhe said that Khwop Hospital should be ready to treat not only the city dwellers but also the people across the country. He opined that the doctors of Khwop Hospital should continue to provide quality services and provide health services not only within the country but also outside the country if necessary.

Bhaktapur Municipality Mayor Sunil Prajapati said that the city scan service was started with a grant of 50 million rupees from the Bagmati Province government and a budget of about 60 million rupees from the Bhaktapur Municipality.

Stating that Khwop Hospital was brought into operation with the aim of providing easy, convenient and quality health services to the city dwellers, he said that various specialized services will be added as per the need. He said that the launch of the city scan service has removed the compulsion to go to private hospitals and pay expensive fees to get this service.

Acting Director of the hospital, Dr. Majes Pratap Malla, expressed confidence that the state-of-the-art CT scan machine, capable of taking 128 to 256 slice images, would facilitate early identification and treatment of various diseases.
