As many as 2,260 people have applied to the Election Police in Makawanpur for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on February 21 by 5 pm on Thursday.

Makawanpur Police Spokesperson DSP Pushkar Bogati said that there is a quota of 1,923 election police officers for the upcoming elections in Makawanpur. A 49-year-old woman has also applied for the election police post at the District Police Office, Hetauda. Suntali Thing, a mother of four, said that she applied for the election police post to cover her children's education expenses and fuel oil as there was no other source of income in the village.

"I applied because I had no other way to earn money, and I was struggling to buy books and fuel oil for my children," she said. Thing, who studied up to grade 8, is the oldest woman to apply for the election police post among women.
