Election symbols given to National Assembly candidates

The Bagmati Province Election Office provided election symbols to candidates on Monday under the National Assembly member election program.

The Election Officer's Office, Hetauda, ​​on Monday awarded election symbols to the candidates whose final list was published on Sunday.  

Geeta Devkota, who filed her candidacy for the women's category from the Nepali Congress, was given the tree symbol, Saroj Kumari Jha of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) was given the five-pointed star, and Kabita Maharjan, who filed her candidacy for the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, was given the medal symbol, Election Officer Geeta Shrestha said. 

Similarly, Prem Prasad Dangal of the UML, who filed her candidacy from other groups, was given the sun symbol. Prem Prasad Sapkota of the NCP was given the five-pointed star, and Bikram Dukuchhu, who filed her candidacy for the Nepali Workers and Peasants Party, was given the medal symbol. 

Six candidates, including one woman, have filed their candidacies for two posts in Bagmati Province, including three women. The Congress and the UML have filed their candidacies in coordination.   

Six candidates had registered their candidacies on Poush 23 for the two vacant National Assembly seats from Bagmati Province. The Election Commission has scheduled voting for the 18 vacant National Assembly members on Magh 11 from 9 am to 3 pm. Both the National Assembly members in Bagmati Province, whose terms end in Falgun next year, belong to the newly formed Nepali Communist Party.
