The 'AI Conclave 2026' has begun at Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel. The AI Conclave, organized by the Artificial Intelligence Club (KUAIC) under the Department of Artificial Intelligence of Kathmandu University, began on Monday.
The AI Conclave was organized as part of the second phase of the ‘AI Convergence’ program run by the club. The AI Conclave was formally inaugurated by Dhulikhel Municipality Mayor Ashok Kumar Byanju Shrestha.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Byanju said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become indispensable in the digital age. He urged that this program should focus on utilizing AI, which is needed in the country, to produce human resources, develop technology, commercialize and promote it. ‘The journey to make the country an AI-enabled Nepal has started from here, this journey will continue,’ he said.

The main theme of the summit will be ‘Large Language Model (LLM) Obesity’. The panel discussion will be held by Prof. Dr. Manoj Shakya of Kathmandu University, Ram Sharma Bhattarai, Founder and Director of Jirasoft, Rojeshman Shikharkar, Senior Manager of Talent Development Fusemachine, and Dr. Bhojraj Ghimire, Head of School of IT, Nepal Open University.
Club President Ashim Shrestha informed that the KUAI Club has been organizing various AI-related programs every year to promote innovation, leadership development, learning new skills, and bridging the gap between academia and industry. According to him, ‘AI Convergence’ has been organized by modifying and refining the previous year’s program to make it more structured and effective.
‘AI Convergence 2026’ was conducted in three phases, said Ranjit Raut, Coordinator of AI Convergence.
