Reorganization of the problematic cooperative management committee

The Bagmati Province government has reorganized the 'Problematic Cooperative Management Committee' to manage problematic cooperatives and expedite the process of refunding depositors' money.

The cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint Shiva Prasad Sigdel to the vacant post of chairman of the committee and nominate Deepak KC and Rameshwor Dhakal as members.

The government believes that the decision, made on the proposal of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, will help in monitoring, managing cooperatives in trouble and protecting the interests of savers.

According to the provincial government spokesperson and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang, the committee will be actively mobilized to solve the problems seen in the cooperative sector.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting also decided to relocate the provincial public health laboratory, which is being operated in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok, to Bhaktapur on the proposal of the Ministry of Health.

Government spokesperson Tamang said that the decision to shift the laboratory to Bhaktapur was made with the aim of expanding access to service recipients and making service delivery more effective. The meeting also approved the third amendment to the working procedure related to the operation of the 'One School, One Nurse' program, as per another proposal of the Ministry of Health.
