Nepali Congress and UML candidates have registered their candidacies in Hetauda for the National Assembly elections. UML has fielded Dr. Prem Dangal of Kathmandu and Nepali Congress has fielded Geeta Devkota of Chitwan under the Others' quota.
UML and Congress cadres jointly registered their candidacies at the office of the Election Officer in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-5. Similarly, Kabita Maharjan and Bikram Dukuchhu registered their candidacies for the women's quota and others' quota respectively on behalf of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party. Similarly, Prem Sapkota of Sindhupalchowk and Saroj Kumari Jha of Kathmandu registered their candidacies for the women's quota from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), according to the Election Officer's Office.

Out of the 18 National Assembly member elections across the country, two seats, including one woman, are being elected from Bagmati Province. For the women's quota, the terms of Gangakumari Belbase of the then Maoist Center and Beduram Bhusal, the then Unified Socialist Party leader, are ending on Falgun 20. The election is going to be held on Magh 11 for the two vacant National Assembly members, including one woman.
The number of voters is 347. For the National Assembly member election, 348 voters are required to vote, including the 110-member Provincial Assembly of Bagmati Province, 119 local level chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, and 238 municipal mayors and deputy mayors, according to the voters' list made public by the Election Officer's Office, Hetauda. Only 237 names are included in the voters' list for municipal mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities and rural municipalities. Therefore, only 347 voters will be eligible to vote for the National Assembly member post. Hari Prasad Dhakal, Chief of the Provincial Election Office, Bagmati, said that only 347 voters are eligible to vote as Nagarjuna Municipality Mayor Mohan Bahadur Basnet is suspended in a corruption case and is deprived of voting.
The term of office of 19 members of the National Assembly that will fall vacant as per Article 86 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal is about to end on Falgun 20. Of the vacant posts, one will be nominated by the President on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal, and elections will be held for 18 National Assembly members.
A polling station has been designated for Bagmati at Bhutandevi Secondary School in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-4. Election Officer Geeta Shrestha said that there will be 2 polling stations at the polling station. The vote weight of a provincial assembly member will be 53, while the local level chief and deputy chief will have 19.
The Congress has 37 seats in the Bagmati provincial assembly, while the local level has 107 seats for the chief and deputy chief. Similarly, UML has 27 seats in the provincial assembly and 60 seats at the local level, the then Maoist Center has 21 seats in the provincial assembly and 57 seats at the local level, the RPP has 13 seats in the provincial assembly and 1 seat at the local level, the CPN-Unified Socialist has 7 seats in the provincial assembly and 9 seats at the local level, the NEMKIPA has 3 seats in the provincial assembly and 2 seats at the local level, and the Hamro Nepali Party has 2 seats in the provincial assembly and 1 seat at the local level.
In Bagmati Province, the total vote share is 10,33 and 3, with the Congress having 3,994 votes, while the newly formed NCP has 28 provincial assembly members and 66 municipal mayors and deputy mayors and rural municipality chairmen and vice-chairmen, with a total of 2,738 votes.
UML is in third place with 2,571 votes. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has 708 votes. The Nepal Workers and Peasants Party has 197 votes, while the Hamro Nepali Party has 106 votes and the Independent has 19 votes.
