The number of banking offense cases has increased as cases that were previously being filed under the heading of check dishonor are now being registered under banking offenses.

In the first five months of the current fiscal year 2082/083, 154 banking offense cases were registered in the District Court, Kavre.
District Judge Matrika Prasad Acharya said that the number of banking offense cases in Kavre has increased in the last five months. According to him, the number of banking offense cases has increased after cases that were previously being processed as check dishonor are now being registered under banking offenses.
The District Court has stated that 605 of the new cases registered from Shrawan to Mangsir of the current fiscal year and cases transferred from the previous year have been disposed of. 735 new cases have been registered in the District Court from Shrawan to Mangsir.
1,462 cases were transferred from the previous fiscal year. 1,592 cases were pending till Mangsir, including new registrations and transferred cases. Of these, 218 cases of 6 months duration, 269 of 1 year duration, 79 of 1.5 years duration, 26 of 2 years duration and 11 of more than 2 years duration have been resolved.
The court is preparing the full text of the judgment along with the resolution of the cases and is also speeding up the implementation of the judgments, said Shrestedar Indira Karki. According to her, out of the 1,233 judgments to be prepared from Shrawan to Mangsir, 628 of which were transferred from last year and 605 this year, 970 cases have been resolved. Similarly, out of the 613 applications for the implementation of the judgments, 185 have been resolved and 427 are pending.
Despite prioritizing the reconciliation process, the success rate of reconciliation in Kavre is not satisfactory. Out of the 129 cases sent for reconciliation in the current year, only 16 have been resolved through reconciliation.
Although there are three judges working in the court, one judge will have to be assigned as the Chief Electoral Officer for the upcoming election on Falgun 21, adding to the challenge of meeting the target of case disposal in the coming days, said Judge Matrika Prasad Acharya.
